Volkswagen Touran 2.0 TDi Review
Volkswagen's Touran is a seven-seat people carrier that's been on sale in the UK since 2003. It’s more traditionally styled than other people carriers. It comes with seven-seats as standard but buyers can specify a five-seat version at no extra cost. Safe, spacious and comfortable the Touran is a good all-rounder.
There's also an eco-friendly Bluemotion model available which averages an impressive 52mpg.
The 1.9 TDI with 90bhp or 105bhp will be quick enough for most buyers – the engine is punchy, cruises well and is very economical. The 105bhp version of this engine is also used in the
Bluemotion models but thanks to longer gearing and low resistance tyres emits less CO2 and is more economical. Alternatively there’s the 2.0-litre TDI with 140 or 170bhp. It’s significantly quicker and much smoother than the 1.9-litre.
